This vacancy is for a WL - 4749-10,MAINTNANCE MECHANIC LEADER-NIE located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY SOUTH PORTLAND in SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine.
You will serve as a MAINTNANCE MECHANIC LEADER-NIE and be responsible for leading a small group of employees while performing a wide variety of trade tasks in the installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of electrical power and control systems, marine and waterfront facilities, building structures, and Aids to Navigation (AtoN) equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Installs all types of electrical equipment such as PV systems, motors, generators, converters, inverters, alternators, frequency modulators, transformers, controllers and switchboards. Installs wire or cables of all sizes and the mechanical protection required by codes and various types of control and alarm systems.
Constructs, alters, and repairs building structures, framing, walls, roofs, stairs, interior/exterior trim, concrete formwork, and shipping crates. Performs structural, electrical, and mechanical repairs across waterfront facilities, piers, towers, civil buildings, and small craft. Leads and guides a small work crew, plans projects from layout to final installation, estimates labor and materials, and maintains shop stock
This position does not have a positive education requirement. Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
