Part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Responsible for conducting major analyses that support the Department of War's field operations.
This includes collecting inputs from Functional Capability Boards multiple Joint Staff directorates, and the combatant commands, regarding capability shortfalls, to produce a synthesized Chairman's Program Recommendation while evaluating cross-cutting capability gap themes, assessing risk, and providing programmatic recommendations.
As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides oversight of Joint Capabilities Division managed branches including: Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC), Secretariat, Joint Force Requirements Process (JFRP) Branch, Requirements Analysis Branch, Requirements Management Branch, and the International JROC Branch.
Determines staffing and funding requirements needed to achieve organizational goals and objectives for the current and upcoming years and works with the Division Chief to meet strategic objectives. Assists with the teaching, coaching, and mentoring of Joint Capabilities Division (JCD) staff members. Ensures that workplace issues are resolved at the lowest possible level but raised to leadership for awareness as appropriate.
Promotes a positive team culture and supports JCD teammates in achieving their full potential professionally and personally. Developing potential solutions spanning the range of Doctrine, Organization, Training, materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTmLPF-P) and developing documentation to support the acquisition of DoD-wide capabilities to meet warfighting needs.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
