Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner, Administrative Services Division, Human Capital Branch, located in the following locations: Washington,DC Indianapolis, IN Minneapolis, MN Bloomington, MN Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Human Capital Branch, will allow you to serve as a Senior Advisor to management assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of human capital efforts resolving complex problems related to position management, staffing and placement, performance management, awards, and worker's compensation. This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

Typical duties in this position include: Advising senior leaders on organizational structures, position management, mission and function statements, and staffing needs to support organizational effectiveness. Analyzing tables of organization, encumbered and vacant positions, and position descriptions to ensure workforce information accurately reflects evolving program requirements.

Coordinating recruitment and staffing actions with program offices and human resources officials to facilitate timely filling of vacancies and resolve staffing issues. Conducting complex studies of interrelated workforce programs to evaluate effectiveness, identify impacts, and recommend improvements to human capital processes.
