This position is located in the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, policy and plans directorate. The mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for missing personnel from the Nation's past conflicts to their families and the Nation. DPAA personnel research, investigate, recover and identify remains of DoD personnel unaccounted for from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and the Iraq conflicts and Persian Gulf War.
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as the Agency-wide conduit for all programmatic partnerships-driven innovation and research-related endeavors, within the Partnerships and Innovation Directorate. Identifies concerns, needs, demands, and communicates objective programmatic and administrative information to senior leadership for holistic decision making with regards to European- Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific Directorates, Scientific Analysis, Outreach and Communications, and other Directorates, and staff members. Provides program management oversight, strategic direction, and task coordination for the Innovation and Research teams. This duty also involves managing training programs to enhance the effectiveness of partners and staff, including developing curricula for various audiences. Provides oversight and continuous improvement for the agency's innovation program and its research activities. This includes developing metrics and goals to measure partner performance, tracking key performance indicators, and recommending revisions to procedures and training to improve efficiency. Prepares and delivers briefings, technical reports, and background papers on specialized areas of expertise. The role requires analyzing complex issues, preparing justifications for organizational decisions, and representing the organization on working groups and at conferences.
