This position serves as a Warehouse Worker Leader located within the Warehouse area of the Logistics Service in the Veterans Affairs Health Care System performing work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and/or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment.
As a Materials Handler Leader, you will: Lead a crew to accomplish assigned projects and daily operational functions; Ensure awareness of trade techniques and practices; Demonstrate proper work methods and works along with others; Provide staff with daily tasks and follows up to confirm completion; Check work while in progress and when finished;Discuss with supervisor the training requirements, problems and other issues; Assist in developing plans for storage and arrangement of stock; Advise workers on guidelines or special instruction to meet deadlines; Consolidate materials to provide maximum space utilization and protection of materials; Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials; Serve as a senior member of the warehouse project team when involved with special projects; Perform other related duties as assigned.
