Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer provides overall management for program integration/execution requirements for an operational flying aeromedical evacuation squadron (AES). DUTY 1: Provides administrative oversight of operational unit activities. Plans and organizes activities of the aeromedical evacuation (AE) unit, ensuring that financial management, information systems, training and operations, communications/administration and manpower programs comply with requirements and support mission objectives. DUTY 2: Establishes and executes mission, organizational, budget/fiscal, staffing, and flying requirements to meet prescribed mission capability. DUTY 3: Provides oversight for assigned and issued organization equipment. DUTY 4: Oversees unit aeromedical training programs to ensure assigned personnel are adequately trained to perform operational AE mission. DUTY 5: Represents the aeromedical evacuation operations function to external agencies to include wing, NAF, and HQ functional representatives, and establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships to further organizational goals. DUTY 6: Provides squadron deployment/contingency execution oversight for mission accomplishment, including AEF tasking requirements and contingency capability sourcing in support of defense support to civil authorities (DSCA). Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a small workforce.
