Job Summary

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System or Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting for an Medical Instrument Technician (EKG). The Medical Instrument Technician (EKG) will function in Medical Service.

Major Duties

Major Duties: - Apply, monitor and troubleshooting continuous cardiac monitoring equipment (e.g., Telemetry) - Recognize and report critical arrhythmia or EKG changes to nursing and medical staff. - Perform routine and Stat 12-lead EKGs on inpatients. - Ensure proper lead placement and patient positioning to obtain accurate tracing. - Clean and maintain EKG machines and telemetry equipment. - Ensure equipment is functional and report malfunctions to biomedical engineering. - Accurately document procedures and patient information in the medical record. - Maintain logs of completed procedures according to department protocol. - Prepare and submit completed EKG's monitoring reports to ordering providers. - Answer phones and respond to telemetry needs. - Participate in ongoing education and training related to EKG technology and arrhythmia recognition. - Assist in the training of new staff or students when applicable - Any duties as assigned Work Schedule: Full time Monday-Friday Evening/Nights with Rotating Weekends and Holidays???????
