Job Summary

Serves as a Medical Records Technician located within the Medical Records department of a medical center, hospital or health care center within various Indian Health Service Unit for both Ambulatory and Inpatient Services. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Major Duties

Archives and retrieves electronic records in accordance with federal records schedules and IHS records lifecycle management guidance. Receives and sorts documents in preparation for scanning, reviews and cross-references the electronic health record (EHR) system for patient identification. Reviews and downloads of any electronic health information received through the Health Information

Education
