Job Summary

Medical Supply Technician with the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. Supports Sterile Processing through decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of medical instruments and equipment. Requires safety awareness, mandatory training, flexibility, occasional travel, and a valid Texas/Federal driver's license. Major Duties

Complete all application requirements detailed in the "Required Documents" section of this announcement. Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Perform decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of reusable medical equipment and supply items. Process surgical instruments, trays, sets, and both disposable and reusable patient-care items. Apply required procedures for cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and assembly of RME in accordance with SOPs. Maintain current knowledge of RME standards, SOPs, and proper equipment use. Demonstrate proficiency in handling, preparing, and inspecting RME. Support Community Based Outpatient Clinics with occasional travel when coverage is required. Attend VHA-sponsored training or certification opportunities as assigned. Maintain a valid Oklahoma and Federal Driver License to operate a government vehicle. Promote a culture of patient safety through adherence to safety procedures and timely reporting of actual or potential events. Follow established reporting protocols for patient safety concerns. Performs other duties as assigned, commensurate with grade level. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM and 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
