This position is for a Medical Supply Technician in Sterile Processing Service (SPS), for Veterans Health Administration at Wilkes-Barre VAMC located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. This is an entry level position for the occupation.
In this position, the incumbent will provide manual cleaning, decontamination, inspection, preparation, assembly, disinfection, sterilization and transport to end user of critical and semi-critical Reusable Medical Devices in support of Medical Center operations.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Uses expertise and technical competence to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize or high level disinfect complex surgical equipment including, but not limited to major orthopedic total joint, cardiovascular, neurologic, Da Vinci robotic systems. Troubleshoots all reprocessing equipment using manufacturers guidance to resolve equipment malfunction.
If unable to resolve will initiate service call through Biomedical department or the manufacturer of the equipment. Will aid in decontaminating, preparing, sterilizing, and delivering lessor complicated instrumentation whenever the need arises or directed by Departmental Leadership. Will be proficient in the use of the Censi-Trac system, keeping up to date records within the system, to include setlists, biological, sterilization, and workflow records.
Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: 12:00pm to 8:30pm, Monday thru Friday Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
