The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) will perform administrative support duties for the Diagnostic Imaging Service at the James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa, Florida. The Advanced MSA provides specialized and expert administrative patient support while working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Perform scheduling, canceling, re-scheduling of patient appointments and/or consults. Must comply with VA Directives and regulations concerning scheduling, canceling and appointments to assure that they meet the criteria to include referring patients to the Community for Care.
Develop/maintain effective and efficient communication with the patient, interdisciplinary team, providers (providing coordination and timeliness of imaging orders in addition to providing education of policy and procedure). Works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model within the individual sections of the Imaging Service.
As the subject matter experts, the Advanced MSA will provide input on all processes and policies to ensure a well-rounded approach is taken in are of expertise. Record data into the electronic medical record involving all aspects of Imaging Service sections. Utilize multiple computer software programs to document imaging data and produce established daily section schedules.
Expected to communicate with Physicians, Supervisors, Leads and other Allied Health Professional Staff in a clinical setting to assist in facilitating patient care.
