Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, Facilities Division, located in Washington, D.C. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Major Duties

This position uses your experience in various mission support duties that fulfill the goals and objectives of U.S. Border Patrol. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland. This position starts at a salary of $102,415.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $133,142.00 (GS-12, Step 10). As a Mission Support Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving mission support processes, developing policies/SOPs and training materials, advising HQ and sector staff, preparing briefings and executive summaries, and coordinating workforce actions and audit responses while safeguarding sensitive information. Typical duties will include: Developing and analyzing internal administrative support procedures and management processes through independent review and coordination with internal and external components. Developing and providing administrative training and resource materials, operations manuals, and standard operating procedures. Reviewing and analyzing presented materials and works with the presenter to develop materials that are clear and concise. Serving as a point of contact and providing general advice and guidance to USBP headquarters and sector office staff on emerging trends affecting CBP and USBP's business processes. Providing guidance to field managers on workforce related issues, managing inquiries and internal investigative files and reports, and drafting disciplinary proposals and final decision letters.
