This position is located within the Laundry section of the Environmental Management Service, at the Fargo VA Healthcare System, located in Fargo ND, and transports textiles between the hospital and the Textile Care Processing Facility approximately five to six times daily.
Major Duties Include Safely Drives and maneuver a 12,000 lb. Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) box truck, for laundry deliveries and collections, through unfavorable weather conditions, heavy traffic and unsteady roads. Secures cargo for transport. Performs routine safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle to include, but not limited to, the addition of fuels or lubricants and the checking of tire pressure.
Maintains cleanliness and professional appearance of both the in and outside of the vehicle. Loads and unloads by hand using laundry carts Deliver and collect linen while meeting delivery and collection timelines. Maintain daily records to include weight of clean and soiled textiles for deliveries and collections.
Fill linen carts and baskets from the flow rack, according to a diagram preparing them for delivery Hang uniforms and organize them according to the assigned valet number placed in all uniforms. Assists in laundry, as time allows. Performs other duties as assigned.
