Job Summary
Employee will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator assigned to Primary Care operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) at the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) locations.
Key Responsibilities
Major duties and responsibilities include: Maintains vehicle maintenance, appearance and travel log. Reads various maps and plan and coordinate the safest route of travel. Uses various communication devices (i.e. cell phones; two-way radios; etc.). Operates various patient transport vehicles and manipulates controls. Recognize emergency medical situations perform and employ basic life support techniques.
Performs tasks that require use of heavy power equipment and common hand tools. Operates and maintains in electrical plug-in and generator operations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Approved
