Job Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Natural Resource Specialist. Make a difference in the West by assisting with managing, developing, and protecting water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Issuing land use permits; managing recreation at Reclamation-managed recreation areas; coordinating with our managing partners for recreation management on Reclamation lands they manage for Reclamation; address public safety and accessibility; and performing other land resource management activities.

Collects data and writes specifications for service contracts and performs the functions of a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) on land resource and recreation related actions and utilizes geographic information system (GIS)software and applications to map and provide documentation for land management resources and activities.

Interacts with representatives from managing partner entities to receive, review, and process requests for construction of or modifications to structures. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with State and Federal entities, local governmental entities, land managers, contractors, and the general public. This includes the ability to correspond with these entities in a productive manner using tact and good judgment in order to reach a consensus.

Extracting the appropriate information to assemble and document compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other applicable regulations so that such use authorizations and out grants can be properly executed by the Area Manager. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Requirements & Education

You must submit a copy of your transcript(s) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
