This position serves as Nurse (Immunization Coordinator), for the branch of Public Health Nursing, in the Division of Public Health, Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, NM. The purpose of this position is to provide for the overall development, implementation, coordination and direction of Gallup Indian Medical Center Immunization Clinic. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Responsible for providing oversight for all vaccine management and ensuing all vaccines are stored, handled, transported, and inventoried correctly.
Orders vaccine for children, adolescent, and adults from the pharmacy department. Maintain an electron inventory and verifies vaccine and supplies are received. Monitor temperature and mechanical indicators for vaccine storage for refrigerators and freezers, ensuring compliance of vaccine storage which includes follow up by checking and recording temperature settings.
Compile report monthly to include inventory, temperature monitoring, provide certification reports, vaccine order, wastage reports and excursion reports. Compile data from Patient Management systems and reports data quarterly to the National Immunization Registry System. Provide training and education to all staff related to immunization issues and vaccine preventable diseases. Assist with disease outbreak investigations.
Maintain adequate supply and inventory of support material. Initiate and maintain quality assurance and performance improvement mechanisms for immunizations.
