This position is located in the Nursing Services Branch at the Dzilth-na-o-dith-hle Health Center (DZHC) in Bloomfield, NM. The incumbent manages the Infection Control, Risk Management, and Employee Health programs to promote patient and employee safety, support quality care, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Registered Nurse Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Serve as the facility's infection prevention subject matter expert by developing policies, conducting surveillance, monitoring compliance, and recommending corrective actions. Plan and deliver infection prevention and employee health training, including orientation, annual education, and regulatory compliance topics.
Manage the Risk Management Program by conducting Root Cause Analyses, tracking Potentially Compensable Events (PCEs), and implementing patient safety improvements. Administer the Employee Health Program by monitoring immunizations, tuberculosis screening, occupational exposures, and regulatory compliance. Collect and analyze infection control and quality improvement data, prepare reports, and support accreditation and committee activities.
Provide direct nursing care, patient assessment, triage, and emergency interventions while adhering to infection prevention standards.
