This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients.
Leads and organizes delivery of care to ensure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Provides nursing coverage across designated units or areas as staffing needs arise. Coordinates daily unit operations, assigns staff responsibilities, supports clinical decision-making, and serves as a resource to staff, Veterans, and the interdisciplinary team.
Collects laboratory samples, verifies patient identification, labels specimens accurately, and ensures timely transport to the laboratory in accordance with established protocols.
