Job Summary

This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM), in the Office of Occupational Medicine and Nursing (OOMN). This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. The location is negotiable after selection; this is not a remote position. Selectee must report in person to a DOL office.

Major Duties

Duties for the position of Nurse include, but are not limited to the following: Supporting OSHA's National Office and field offices on a variety of occupational health initiatives and requirements in support of health awareness. Reviewing and answering questions from the public applicable to OSHA standards and recommendations on healthcare concerns and nursing interests. Training OSHA employees, including occupational medicine and nursing students and National Office staff. Reviewing clinical charts and records and sending lab reports and information as directed by OOMN physicians. Supporting OOMN staff in collaboration with standards and compliance groups on the development of new standards and policies. Providing technical assistance to OSHA's National Office and regional offices, individuals, other federal and state agencies, and non-governmental organizations such as educational institutions, union and professional organizations, on a variety of occupational health matters.
