The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the HSA 5.3 (Legacy VISN 22) Tele-Emergency Care (EC) under the guidance of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) which provides support health care services to veteran patients across the continuum of care in both home and institutional settings. The RN supports the location to and from which care is delivered, including but not limited to the veteran's home, VA clinical locations, and provider alternate worksites.
Position is remote eligible and is currently exempted from return to office (RTO) requirements. Remote exempted positions are reviewed annually and DOES NOT imply permanent remote work status. This position may be required to report to an office within the HSA 5.3 (Legacy VISN 22) catchment area.
Selected VHA employee must be located (or willing to relocate at your own expense) within 50 miles of a VA Facility within the HSA 5.3 (Legacy VISN 22) catchment area (Albuquerque, Greater Los Angeles, Loma Linda, Long Beach, Phoenix, Prescott, San Diego, Tucson) Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
Provide urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions. Nursing care recommendations may be emergent and include those to preserve life, prevent disability, or promote health and well-being, including e911 activation, transfer to an emergency care licensed independent provided (LIP) (physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant), teaching and counseling.
The nurse evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence. Provide peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement and fosters a safe and supportive environment and conducive to professional development of healthcare professionals.
