Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) within the scope and certification of a CNA in the nursing unit, clinic, area of assignment and demonstrates consistent practice when temporarily assigned to related nursing units and clinics. Provides care and services to multiple populations served and admitted to the nursing unit, clinic, area of assignment as determined by the patient/resident need for nursing care and services.

Major Duties

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Provides care of patients/residents and their environment contributing to optimizing patient/resident outcomes as a member of the multi- disciplinary healthcare team. Provides direct patient/resident care in the provision of the psychological, physical, social, and cultural activities of daily living, complete and supportive. Provides for the care of patients/residents with dignity and continuous consideration of the individuals emotional needs. Provides reporting, communication, and documentation in the computerized patient record system with other members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Maintains certification, BLS, and remains current in required education and training as identified by regulating agencies, CVHCS, VISN and National Agencies. Demonstrates competency and consistency in the technical use of equipment, application of technical standards and performance of administrative support duties. Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with standard operating procedures for the maintenance of reusable medical equipment. Work Schedule: The shift will be days, with night rotation if needed. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
