Major Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Site Manager for the Ground-based Electro Optical Deep Space surveillance (GEODSS) system. Position has the full scope of responsibility for directing the activities of the site and is the sole government individual on-site. Incumbent makes technical and executive decisions for the site in all areas of functional responsibility. Responsible for monitoring and documentation of site contractor performance. GEODSS sites are geographically separated units (GSU) located in strategic worldwide locations and assigned to Mission|Delta. DUTIES: Plans, organizes, manages, and oversees the Site. Develops goals and objectives that integrate the site's Combined Joint Force Space Component Command's (CJFSCC) Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission with that of the squadron and delta. Provides expert technical advice and operational support to Senior Leaders on the operations and maintenance of sophisticated space and communications systems Monitors, coordinates, and evaluates contract performance. Provides contract performance oversight and is responsible for integrating and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined contractors assigned to operations and mission support programs to meet the evolving needs of the SDA mission. Establishes, develops and maintains effective working relationships within the squadron, other space surveillance sensors, Mission Delta 2, Space Operations Command (SpOC), Space Systems Command (SSC), Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Host Base, Army, Navy and various other applicable agencies in regards to the operations, maintenance, and support of the GEODSS system. Manages mission reporting to include Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) requirements, improvement, and evaluation responsibilities. Serves as the primary site lead for any HHQ inspections or evaluations.
