Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the Specialty Care Outpatient Cardiac Clinic Staff Registered Nurse (RN) include, but are not limited to: The Specialty Care Outpatient Cardiac Clinic Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal cardiac care.

This nurse provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments and Veteran goals of care. Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient.

Documenting all encounters accurately in electronic medical records and adhering to safety protocols. Conducting vital signs, ECGs, tests, recording patient history, and educating patients on medications, test results, and procedures. Ensuring exam rooms are prepared, equipment is maintained, and coordinating with the Health Administration team for test scheduling.
