Job Summary

As a Pharmacist with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Healthcare and Insurance, you will provide pharmacy expertise supporting health benefit programs; analyze complex pharmacy benefits, formularies, drug utilization, pricing, and pharmaceutical data; develop policy recommendations; evaluate industry and regulatory developments; and advise stakeholders on pharmacy benefit design, quality, cost, and member access.

Key Responsibilities

Develops pharmacy benefit policies, goals, and strategies to improve prescription drug coverage, quality, access, utilization, and cost. Analyzes complex pharmacy benefits, formularies, drug utilization, pricing methodologies, pharmacy networks, and pharmaceutical data to identify trends and recommend changes. Conducts pharmacy program studies and develops reports, analyses, presentations, recommendations, and solutions for decision makers.

Evaluates pharmaceutical industry developments, clinical practices, and public- and private-sector innovations for potential application to health benefit programs. Analyzes proposed legislation and regulatory changes affecting pharmacy benefits and assesses their potential program, clinical, and cost impacts.

Collaborates with health professionals, economists, actuaries, government agencies, health plans, pharmacy organizations, and other stakeholders on pharmacy benefit issues. Advises on pharmacy quality, patient safety, population health, medication management, benefit administration, and pharmacy program oversight.
