This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Duties include but are not limited to: Managing Psychiatry Service, developing goals, and planning resources and programs which are coordinated across the health care system. Assign, plan, and set priorities of Psychiatry Service employees and advise, counsel, and instruct staff on work and administrative matters.
Attend to and resolve employee complaints and grievances and recommend disciplinary and adverse actions when indicated. Serve as a member of the Mental Health Executive Leadership team on the Mental Health ICC and other local, VISN, and national committees as assigned. Work closely with the Lead Psychiatrist in the professional practice, mentoring, and professional development of Psychiatrists assigned to Psychiatry Service.
The chief also consults with the lead in hiring decisions and performance evaluations for psychiatrists. Participate in Mental Health Chief huddle, Chief of Staff huddle, Facility Leadership Morning report huddle, and huddle on Inpatient Acute Psychiatry. Complete clinical duties as required.
