Job Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Major Duties

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performing initial medical histories and physical examinations on new and established patients at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, indicating clinical problems and patient assessment. Providing and coordinating comprehensive care for assigned patients in any care setting, within the limits of this Scope of Practice. Performing special examinations, such as compensation and pension examination, examinations on outpatients and also non-adjudicative employee health examination after appropriate training has been completed. Performing periodic physical examinations on outpatients, and screening them to determine the need for further health care. Ordering appropriate laboratory tests, consultations, and other diagnostic studies according to criteria previously established by the supervising physician(s) and the Medical Staff Executive Committee. Drawing blood specimens (venipuncture) for testing and performing other comparable procedures when personnel who customarily perform such procedures are not available.
