VA New York Harbor Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Imaging Physician with expertise in advanced multimodality imaging techniques. The candidate should have proficiency in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, structural CT, structural echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System provides care to eligible Veterans via 3 medical centers and 2 community-based outpatient clinics. The Margaret Cochran VA Campus is a high complexity facility located in Manhattan with a major educational affiliation with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The Brooklyn Campus provides acute inpatient medical and surgical services with a major affiliation with SUNY-Health Science Center - Brooklyn. The St.

Key Responsibilities: Perform and interpret cardiac CT and MRI studies for diagnostic and pre-procedural planning. Conduct structural CT imaging for transcatheter interventions (e.g., TAVR, MitraClip, LAA closure).
Execute and interpret structural echocardiography, including 3D imaging and guidance for structural heart procedures. Perform and analyze transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography for intra-procedural and diagnostic purposes. Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other specialists to optimize patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary heart team meetings for case planning and review.
Ensure adherence to imaging protocols and maintain high standards of quality and safety. Contribute to education and training of fellows, residents, and technologists in advanced cardiac imaging. Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to cardiovascular imaging. Work Schedule: Intermittent
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted.
Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for the year in which the degree was granted. For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, confirmation must be made that the medical school meets (or met) Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) eligibility requirement for year graduated.
NOTE: The Under Secretary of Health or designee in the VHA Central Office may approve the appointment under authority of 38 U.S.C. 7405 of a physician graduate of a school of medicine not covered above if the candidate is to be assigned to a research, academic, or administrative position with no patient care responsibilities.
The appointment will be made only in exceptional circumstances where the candidate's credentials clearly demonstrate high professional attainment or expertise in the specialty area.
