VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) in Dallas, Texas, is actively recruiting a full time Deputy Chief of Staff who will be based at the Dallas VA Medical Center. We are seeking a dynamic physician leader to join one of the largest university-affiliated VA Medical Centers, with a diversified, multi-specialty staff of academic faculty and experienced medical professionals.
The successful candidate will be a highly competent, energetic physician with demonstrated excellence as a leader, a passion for teamwork and continuous improvement, and a record of embracing systems redesign principles. The Deputy Chief of Staff works integrally with the Chief of Staff team as a key executive in the planning, execution, oversight and management of this highly complex health care services delivery, educational, and medical research enterprise.
Significant relevant leadership experience and demonstrated motivation to guide this broad array of VHA missions at VANTHCS will be necessary qualifications for the successful candidate.\ The incumbent will serve as a member of the senior leadership team ensuring that high quality patient care is delivered to our Veterans and that facility programs reflect the mission and priorities of the VA.
The incumbent will also have direct oversight of clinical and research services in the achievement of VA/VHA performance goals in the absence of the Chief of Staff. Poised as VHA's second largest health care system, we serve over 156,000 Veterans and deliver nearly two million outpatient encounters of care each year to Veterans in 38 counties in Texas and two in southern Oklahoma.

In 2009, a Fisher House was established on the Dallas campus to provide no-cost temporary lodging in a home-like setting for families of Veterans or active duty military personnel undergoing treatment at the facility. VANTHCS is in the vanguard of advanced clinical specialty services including interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, cutting edge nuclear medicine imaging, robot-assisted surgery, and dedicated hematology/oncology and HIV care.
