Major Duties

The Bone Marrow Transplant (MTU) Director is responsible for the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Section at the Puget Sound VA Healthcare System and reports directly to the Hospital and Specialty Medicine Care Line Director. Duties include but are not limited to: Admit, evaluate, diagnosis, provide treatment or consultative services to patients presenting with illness and disorders of the blood, blood forming tissues and malignant disorders. Perform specialty procedures as delineated in their clinical privileges. Take part in continuing medical education (as defined by licensure), and quality assurance activities. Supervision, training, and teaching of the University of Washington Hematology/Oncology fellows and students who are assigned to the VA. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
