This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) that installs, inspects, troubleshoots, tests, repairs, modifies, overhauls, services, and dispatches powered and non-powered aerospace ground support equipment and to to train reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
DUTIES: DUTY 1: Inspects, troubleshoots, calibrates, installs, tests, repairs, removes, aligns, modifies, overhauls and performs major maintenance on complex powered and non-powered aerospace ground support systems and integrated sub-systems to include Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE).
Performs periodic/scheduled, service, special inspections, TCTO's, OTI's and preventive maintenance on complex powered and non-powered aerospace ground support systems and integrated sub-systems to include Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE). DUTY 2: Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, aligns, calibrates, and performs functional and final testing of integrated electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
Reviews, verifies and documents equipment/component forms/tags and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to reflect maintenance actions performed for on and off equipment to include initiating Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE) reports, i.e.; DULL SWORD Actions.
DUTY 3: Complies with safety standards in accordance with State and Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), AF Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) and Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA), environmental protection practices and procedures, directives, technical orders (TO) and policies. Performs production control functions. Maintains and controls tools, consolidated tool kits (CTK)s, and individually issued equipment.
Verifies tools are serviceable, properly marked, calibrated, inventoried and secured at all times. DUTY 4: Certifies and enforces the standard of work produced utilizing the USAF Technical Order Program, AFIS and commercial manuals. Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve, Active Duty, and Civilian training. DUTY 5: Dispatch and recover aerospace ground support equipment. Obtain/maintain airfield driving competency certification.
Deliver, recover and operate aerospace ground support equipment utilizing appropriate tow vehicles around aircraft and hangars (scheduled or directed).
