This position assists in providing nursing support for the various clinics at the Central Ohio Healthcare System in Columbus Ohio including support to the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC'S). This position will work collaboratively with providers and nursing staff to provide initial intake, clinical reminders, observation and report the reason for visit to the provider and/or registered nurse.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Maintain confidentiality of written, electronic, and verbal patient/employee information. Work and function within a safe manner i including infection control and u se of equipment. Assure that patient safety is paramount in all aspects of patient care.
Integrate and apply pertinent aspects of the Ambulatory Care Center performance improvement program into his/her professional practice. Work Schedule: Work availability is determined based on needs of the service. Minimum requirement of 16 hours a month for Intermittent staff with work shifts of 4-8 hours available. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders.
