This position is located at the Reserve Fleets, Office of Ship Operations, Office of the Deputy Associate Administrator for Federal Sealift, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration (MARAD).
As a Preservation Servicer, you will: Assure that equipment and materials needed to complete a job are available at the start, and that all environmental, safety and housekeeping rules are being observed. Provide supervisor or work leader with an accurate account of his/her daily work for time keeping purposes. Perform assigned tasks with other work groups and complete the work safely, efficiently and harmoniously. Abide by and enforce all Reserve Fleet Safety Rules, Reserve Fleet programs and policies for assigned crew and abide by all applicable environmental laws and other regulations. The ideal candidate should possess the skill set and ability to work with a crew of mechanics, riggers, and laborers assigned in two major programs aboard vessels in the NDRF: deck and hull coating maintenance; and implementation of MARAD's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
