Major Duties

Summary Statement: The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Prevention Coordination Specialist at an Air Force/Space Force installation. Under the direction of the Integrated Prevention Chief, the Prevention Coordination Specialist develops and delivers integrated prevention and resilience programs, activities and resources specifically tailored to address personal readiness, local/unique risk and protective factors of the population served. This position is responsible for development and delivery of comprehensive, coordinated prevention and resilience activities (i.e., training), and outreach (i.e., strategic messaging and marketing) to deliver optimal support to the installation's Total Force and families. Collaborates and integrates primary prevention efforts in areas such as sexual assault, domestic abuse (incl. intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect), workplace violence (incl. harassment, bullying and hazing), suicide, and alcohol abuse/misuse prevention. Duties: Leads management, implementation and delivery of research-based and evidence-informed activities related to Integrated Primary Prevention and Resilience Programs with the intent to stimulate change in knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors in general and target populations. Uses professional knowledge to lead installation prevention education and training efforts to include all mandatory integrated prevention and resilience training as required by DoD, OAF, Major/Field Command and installation leadership. Community Action Team member directly supporting execution of established initiatives and development of the installation Comprehensive Integrated Primary Prevention (CIPP) Plan. Develop and deliver effective primary prevention and resilience strategic communication and marketing that drives healthy and positive cultural norms leading to a resilient Total Force and families. Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency.
