Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position, in conjunction with the Production Superintendent (Pro Super), to assign priorities to aircraft production efforts, to direct action to resolve resource shortages, to maintain liaison among aircraft maintenance management, and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

DUTIES: DUTY 1: Provides both present and projected status information to prescribed managerial personnel. Specifically identifies problems and unfavorable trends and whenever corrective actions are not apparent, indicates underlying or associated causes, relates histories and makes recommendations in regard thereto. DUTY 2: Notes projected completion date, studies actual aircraft status and informs higher levels within chain of command when aircraft is to be mission ready.

Coordinates adjustment of schedules with appropriate personnel whenever unforeseen difficulties are encountered. Through use of radio, telephone, intercom, e-mail, personal contact with production supervisors, technicians, review of work documents and statistical listings, determines status of aircraft. DUTY 3: As daily events occur, maintains MIS data integrity regarding maintenance flying schedule requirements.

Uses the computer products to track unit effectiveness and to monitor status of production. Accomplishes aircraft debriefing to ensure malfunctions identified by aircrews are properly reported and documented. Enters all daily or weekly flying schedule deviations are entered into MIS and reports them to appropriate work sections (i.e. Analysis and QA). DUTY 4: Maintains liaison with the Maintenance Coordinating Function (MCF) of the Command Post.

Receives information on operating problems, requests from other outside agencies, incoming classified/unclassified messages, notification of prevailing defense posture, and weather conditions from MCF. DUTY 5: Conducts training and skill level progression of Air Force Reservists. Works to achieve and support quality improvements in assigned areas of responsibility.
