Serves as a Supervisory Production Controller in UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries at a Federal Bureau of Prisons' correctional facility. Responsible for the direct supervision of staff in the various UNICOR business and factory operations. Plans and assigns work, maintains work flow, evaluates the performance of federal civilian employees and indirectly the work and training of federal inmate workers.
Coordinates with quality control personnel and factory foremen, to ensure quality control and quantity production throughout the operation. Plans production, lays out process steps and specifies equipment for each product work station, which includes cutting, assembling, printing and packing. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
