The primary purpose of this position is to develop and write programming plans based upon defense guidance and HQ USAF, major command, or joint services organization policies, directives, and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the review of all relevant planning and programming documents.
Provides training to reservists, military and/or other civilians in the accomplishment of assigned duties. Serves as a senior specialist responsible for directing, developing, implementing, programming and/or functioning as part of the command headquarters senior policy analysis staff programs.
As the Strategic Program Manager and Subject-Matter Expert, applies expert knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships, along with superior analytical skills, to develop, write and evaluate detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation of Strategic Programming policy and execution. Serves as the Command Senior Policy Analyst and Subject-Matter Expert for Panels Division missions.
Serves as focal point for development, preparation and administration of documents integral to Air Force Reserve requirements and programs. Serves as program manager, responsible for providing management oversight and supervision for the full spectrum of programming activities for reserve missions pertaining to Panels Division programs. Prepares proposed program decision packages for inclusion in the Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
Manages requirements and programs, including aircraft modifications and aircraft/equipment acquisitions. Responsible for writing and integrating programming plans across the Enterprise, applying expert analytical skills to plan, organize and incorporate necessary policies, regulations, directives, doctrine and procedures in order to establish and maintain assigned major command programs. Maintains a full understanding of programming actions.
This position will also function as the programming execution manager, applying Air Force military knowledge to analyze and evaluate issues, and develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems/issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in major command programs.
Performs actions across multi-functional areas of responsibility in order to satisfy mission objectives; this position is not limited to a single functional area such as logistics, operations, finance, etc. Serves as Program Manager for the Air Force Reserve Command. Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and implementing all program initiatives.
Provides expert technical guidance in development and documentation of planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force and Major Command requirements for assigned programs. Actively participates in strategic planning to improve organizational direction and focus using strategic planning tools and techniques.
