This Program Analyst (Informatics) position is located at Bob Stump Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. The primary purpose of the position is to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies throughout the VHA.
DETAIL DURATION: NTE 120 Days (Anticipated start date: October 5, 2026). Detail may be extended upon concurrence. A temporary promotion to GS-12 may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.
Typical duties include but are not limited to: Performing coordination of computer programs, programming, EHR programs, development of project plans, conducts environmental scans for viable solutions to business need, deploys solutions, and performs assessments to ensure the informatics products and services are meeting stakeholder needs.
Contributing to the development of software enhancements, guides process improvement activities, and partners with colleagues working on information technology (IT). Providing communication channels to clinical and business teams to support deployment, sustainment, and optimization efforts. Coordinating among multiple services to provide clinical workflows. Enhancing EHR usability, interoperability, and ability to interface with other information-based systems.
Adapting clinical software and emerging technologies to optimize the delivery of care through effective education and communication in close partnership with clinical and administrative services. Applying statistical, machine learning, visualization, inferencing, and other techniques to enable decision support. Participating in actions to evaluate, test, and report on errors found when working with systems and applications.
Supporting the thorough analysis of a workflow to consider opportunities for the potential improvement or optimization of the behavior of people, systems, information, and tools. Applying a true end-to-end process to evaluate workflows, identify issues, develop solutions based on best practice guidelines, and resolves and communicates changes to maintain and optimize processes that deliver HIT solutions.
Partnering with stakeholders on the planning and deployment of medical devices in clinical areas. Utilizing innovative practice patterns and specializations to continuously develop the informatics role and associated competencies, aligning it with the strategic needs of the organization.
