This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate, Military Personnel Division. The Military Personnel Division provides personnel administration support for military personnel associated with OSW. This position manages the assigned National Guard and Reserve personnel.
These functions directly support the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and those Defense Agencies and Department of War (DoW) field activities that WHS supports.
Key Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Advising on the Joint Duty Assignment List, monitoring compliance with Title 10, managing and tracking approximately 453 Joint Duty Assignment (JDA) billets, and ensuring the validity and availability of JDA billets with military departments. Provide policy guidance on the management of National Guard & Reserve military end-strength requirements and joint assignments.
Participate in and initiate special projects, evaluate reports by analyzing facts, perform research, and recommend appropriate actions for unresolved issues. Stay current with regulations, legislation, and policies that affect military personnel management; analyzing and advising on courses of action in response to new plans, assessing the impact of mission changes, and preparing staff reports and presentations for senior leadership.
Ensuring the accuracy of data used for joint manpower management.
