The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is recruiting for (1) Program Specialist within the Office of the Assistant Director to serve as a Program Specialist within the line of the Associate Director for Ambulatory Care Services (ACS). The incumbent will directly report to the Associate Director and is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of all administrative programs at the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center (SACC).
Duties may include but are not limited to: Interprets findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Participates in completing analyses of data and identifying administratively significant findings Gathers and organizes narrative and statistical information using established methods, techniques, and precedents such as questionnaires, interviews, reviews of databases, and comparisons of past, present, and related administrative functions Gathers information and prepares charts, researches and interprets policies and procedures, and carefully assesses past performance for compliance with existing policies and procedures concerning affiliate/trainee agreements and education Utilizes knowledge of health care quality management and performance improvement principles in the development of performance improvement plans, patient care audits, and the coordination of outcomes related to organizational and functional relationships Develops short-and-long terms goals. Develops proposals, as well as evaluating outcomes, for cooperative programs with other services lines and institutions, developing and coordinating new initiatives for the service Serves as an expert on quantitative methods, and provides expert guidance, consultation, and leadership in developing analyses and evaluations of the service programs Integrates varied databases to bring sophisticated data together into one comprehensive report. Completes analysis to evaluate procedures, workflow, personnel utilization, organization, communications, training arrangements of space and equipment Serves as the point of contact for employee satisfaction to ensure staff have the opportunity to participate in workplace satisfaction/improvement programs and surveys Identifies barriers to providing exceptional customer service by using customer feedback in planning and providing products and services to enhance the overall customer service experience of all stakeholders Recruits and hires subordinate staff members in line with merit staffing procedures and equal employment opportunity guidelines Assigns work to staff and provides technical and policy direction to their efforts Reviews completed work of the staff and provides feedback to encourage top performance to enhance an atmosphere of teamwork Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pmVirtual: This is not a virtual position.
