The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Wichita, Kansas is currently recruiting for a Program Support Assistant (OA) to support Social Work Service - Homeless Program.
The Program Support Assistant (PSA) (OA) to the Social Work Service Line's Homeless and HUD VASH Programs provides administrative and technical support to all Program Coordinators and Case Managers as well as the Homeless Program Supervisor, Contracted Emergency Housing, Veterans Justice Outreach/Reentry, and Homeless Outreach. The incumbent will serve as a point of contact for staff, Veterans and outside agencies.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Routes incoming telephone calls and relay messages to staff. Maintains accurate records per VA and Joint Commission standards. Organizes and manages access to shared program files. Monitors and validate staff timecards and leave as proxy timekeeper. Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports using Microsoft Office and internal systems.
Coordinates new employee onboarding, including account setup, badge issuance, equipment, and workspace assignments. Ensure personnel files are complete and current with documentation and training records. Schedule staff meetings and training; assists with agenda and minutes. Processes fund requests, tracks expenditures, and completes purchases. Oversee usage, maintenance, and documentation for program vehicles. Manages receipt, documentation, and distribution of donations.
Updates dashboards and databases to track consults, referrals, and performance metrics. Handles secure distribution and collection of program forms, releases, and referrals. Supports planning and execution of outreach and special events. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
