This position is within the VISN 12 Great Lakes Fiscal Service (GLFS), located at the Milwaukee Campus. The incumbent serves as the Agent Cashier Teller for the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center and associated Outpatient Clinics in the administrative and technical matters related to the operation of the Cashiers Office.
Major Duties: Responsible for maintaining the cash flow so that adequate cash is on hand at all times to operate the daily cashier functions. Responsible for training, planning and directing all activities of the Office taking prompt action as necessary to modify and/or change existing practices with the objective of efficiency in operations and maintenance of work on a current and accurate basis in accordance with all existing laws and regulations. Implementing and coordinating the Transit Benefit Program for the Milwaukee Medical Center. Responsible for sending completed applications to the VISN Transit Benefit Coordinator. Responsible for ensuring that all pre-tax program participants have made their necessary deductions, coordinating through Payroll. Advise Payroll of adjustments due to an employees extended absence, leave without pay or other changes in transit benefits and will initiate the action for refunds. Transit Managers are responsible for reconciling biweekly. The Transit Report, the application form (VA Form 0722), the media distribution list (VA Form 0724 ), and the reports from the Office of Administration will all be used to perform the reconciliation.
