Job Summary

You will serve as a Property Management Specialist (Property, Fleet and Housing Manager) with the National Park Service. This position is located in National Parks of Eastern North Carolina, in the Administrative Division.

Key Responsibilities

The Property Management Specialist oversees the park's housing, property, and fleet programs. This includes managing employee housing assignments and related maintenance needs, coordinating vehicle availability and compliance for the park's fleet, and ensuring proper accountability, inventory, and disposal of government property. The role supports park operations by keeping these programs organized, efficient, and in line with required policies and procedures.

AREA INFORMATION: The Outer Banks are comprised by several towns including Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Buxton, and Ocracoke. The area is a beach destination. The beaches, as well as Albemarle and Pamlico sounds, provide exceptional recreational opportunities, such as fishing, surfing, boating, and many other watersports. There are several highly rated elementary, middle, and high schools and numerous extracurricular activities available for children.

These towns all have homes for sale or rent and are within reasonable driving distance. The Outer Banks has many modern conveniences, such as grocery stores, retail shopping, banks, a hospital, and many restaurants. Cost of living on the Outer Banks is somewhat expensive as compared to other eastern North Carolina communities.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore (www.nps.gov/caha): Cape Hatteras National Seashore was designated as the first National Seashore in the Park Service.

Requirements & Education

You must submit a copy of your transcript(s) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
