This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
The Psychologist is located in the Mental Health Patient Care Center at the James J. Peters (Bronx) VA Medical Center. The staff psychologist duties include: assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care; performing evaluations; providing a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual and group counseling; consulting with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues; and may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities and/or the psychology training program.
