This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. This position serves as the Deputy Psychologist Program Manager for the Specialty Mental Health Clinic BHIP Teams (MHC). The MHC is a multidisciplinary outpatient program within the MH Service that provides state-of-the-art mental health services for veterans based on the psychiatric rehabilitation recovery model. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The incumbent serves the Deputy Program Manager for a BHIP location.
Deputy program managers have broad program management responsibilities for a specific program that is designed to deliver specialized, complex, highly professional services that are important program components of the facility and that significantly impact the health care provided to Veterans. Decisions made by the Deputy program Manager affect staff and other resources associated with the programs managed and are made while exercising wide latitude and independent judgment.
The type of program managed and scope of responsibility are critical aspects of the assignment at this level. Responsibilities include operation and management of key clinical, training, research, and administrative activities for the BHIP location, to include full responsibility for managing the day to day activities of the BHIP program. Responsibility includes some supervision of staff.
Deputy Program Managers are responsible for strategic planning to ensure the provision of high-quality services to meet the needs of the Veterans being served and planning, and developing and implementing short-and long-term goals and objectives consistent with the program's strategic plan.
