Job Summary

The full-time permanent Psychology Program Manager will be the Internship Training Director and is located in the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (VAHCS).

Major Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Organizes, directs, administers, and manages all aspects of the Psychology Training Programs, including policy development, program planning, and determination of program needs within available staff and budget. Exercises wide latitude and independent judgement in coordinating training program staff and resources; maintains the independence of the training program as required by APA accreditation and professional standards. Has administrative supervisory responsibility for training program coordinators/staff and interns and directs the training-related activities of all doctoral-level clinical supervisors participating in the programs. Manages the national recruitment and selection process for interns(per APPIC guidelines) and oversees recruitment/selection of students. Maintains a comprehensive, ongoing trainee and supervisor evaluation system consistent with APA accreditation guidelines. Develops program self-studies and coordinates all aspects of APA site visits to obtain/maintain national accreditation. Chairs monthly Psychology Internship Training Committee meetings and organizes annual trainee selection processes. Incorporates trainee, supervisor, and graduate feedback into continuous program improvement. Conducts comprehensive psychological assessments and formulates diagnostic impressions using standardized and clinically appropriate methods. Delivers evidence based and evidence informed psychotherapy for mental health, substance use, behavioral and psychosocial concerns within granted clinical privileges. Completes all required clinical documentation and charting in accordance with healthcare system timelines, quality standards and accreditation requirements. Provides clinical supervision to unlicensed staff and trainees, guidance and education to assigned staff in psychological service delivery. May serve on internal and external committees. May have administrative responsibilities of limited scope and complexity. Other duties as assigned.
