Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The incumbent serves as Psychology Program Manager of the Posttraumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) Clinical Team (PCT) at the James J Peters VA Medical Center (JJP VAMC).
The incumbent in this position provides program oversight and coordination of PTSD treatment and programming throughout the medical center including the comprehensive development, planning, and implementation of the program's policies and procedures, determining the needs to the program, overseeing and directing the quality and quantity of training, monitoring data-driven outcomes, and establishing program initiatives and direction within the limitations of available staff and budget.
Duties include but are not limited to: Supervising JJP VAMC staff psychologists and social workers who primarily function as licensed clinical psychologists or licensed clinical social workers with specialized training in providing evidence based treatment to veterans with PTSD; Supervision includes primary responsibility for candidate review and selection for hiring and completing mid-year and annual performance appraisals.
Identifying clinical/service issues affecting the delivery of care to Veterans with PTSD. Identifying training/supervisory issues affecting the education of psychology trainees within the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited psychology internship program. Identifying meritorious research and scholarly activities for implementation within the PCT. Facilitating clinical, training, and research/scholarship activities within PTSD program.
Facilitating and participating in the orientation and training of new psychologists hired within the PCT, including the PTSD/SUD clinical psychologist. Serving on hospital committees and representing MH for external site visitor. Decisions are made exercising wide latitude and independent judgment. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
