The Psychometrist is a Psychology Technician is assigned to the Mental Health Service, Neuropsychology Service. The Psychometrist is responsible for collection, tabulation, and maintenance of a database of psychological and neuropsychological tests. The technician will administer psychological and neuropsychological tests to patients under supervision of a licensed psychologist at the W.G. (Bill) Salisbury VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
The psychometrist is a psychology technician assigned to the Mental Health Service Line in the Neuropsychology Service. The psychometrist is responsible for collection, tabulation, scoring, scanning and storage of psychological and neuropsychological tests. The technician will administer psychological and neuropsychological tests to patients under supervision of a licensed psychologist.
The psychometrist will train psychology interns how to administer psychological and neuropsychological tests as needed. The psychometrist will complete other duties as assigned such as ordering test supplies, serving as a fund control point clerk, working directly with HIMS on document handling, maintaining the testing computers and submitting work orders as needed.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Psychometrist includes but is not limited to the following: Administers and scores a wide variety of psychological and neuropsychological tests in a standardized manner, with sensitivity to individual patient characteristics Interviews patients or research subjects, obtaining relevant information in a standardized format Prepares test data summaries for psychological and neuropsychological patient evaluations under the supervision of a psychologist Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their specific needs.
Collects, tabulates, and maintains the research database of psychological and neuropsychological tests Manages conflict and problems in dealing with the patients and family members constructively and appropriately Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 0800 - 4:30pm Telework: This position is approved for 2-days per week regular and recurring Telework (Not Mandatory) but it is not authorized for 100% Telework Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
