Job Summary
Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Serves as liaison to Congress and works with the Department of Justice (DOJ), other government agencies, and non-government organizations on legislative and congressional issues. Monitors, tracks, and analyzes legislation. Works toward enactment of legislation that will have a positive impact on the BOP and the avoidance of legislation that will have a negative impact on the agency. Provides information to Members of Congress.
Prepares BOP officials to testify at congressional hearings in fulfillment of Congress' role of oversight of the Executive Branch. Assists members' offices in fulfilling their responsibility to provide services to their constituents. Helps ensure the effective and timely implementation of statutory changes.
