Key Responsibilities

The Communications Office (DD-COM) of the National Gallery of Art, reporting to the Chief of Communications (DD-COM Chief) which is charged with the integrated communications activities of the Gallery. The primary purpose of DD-COM is to create and implement integrated communications plans on behalf of the Gallery, aimed at sharing our collection, programs, and resources with the public we serve.

Duties for this position include Develop and carry out integrated promotion/outreach strategies for programs in portfolio, with the goal of increasing attendance, positive public reaction, and online engagement.

Establish, develop, and maintain effective relationships with media representatives in print, TV, digital and radio Research and write a variety of materials, including press releases, flyers, ads, and scripts, select/manage images, and coordinate photo and video sessions Research, select, and contact appropriate press representatives to attend and/or cover events.
