The position is located at the Loveland VA Outpatient Medical Clinic. The position conducts the public affairs program for the Cheyenne VAMC and clinics with responsibility for developing and providing staff direction involving all public information, internal information and community relations activities.
Duties include but not limited to: Incumbent must have knowledge of the capabilities to establish and maintain effective working relationships with print, broadcast and social media and representatives in disseminating information or answering inquiries about the organizations' operations or activities Advises staff and leadership directly involved with activity operations on handling problem and incident related to the organizations programs Writes articles and speeches for the Medical Center Director and Medical Center staff prepares and publishes organizational publications, keeping all internal personnel informed of programs, activities and career information; writes articles for director to specialized trade publics Arranges for organization representatives to speak to local civic or service groups; informs local community of activities through various media available Writes articles for director dealing with organization operations, programs and activities for publication in the national trade outlets Stay abreast of changes and advancements in methods of marketing, social media platforms and target population preferences on receiving information by demographics Creates and maintains relationships with Veteran Service Organizations, non-profits elected officials and healthcare systems within catchment area that support veterans needs to support the VHA Mission and vision Monthly collect patient feedback and communicate patient experiences in an informational and entertaining methods using internal and external mediums Performs other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for ad-hoc.
